What is DNA banking?

DNA banking is a service provided by Advanced DNA to safely and securely store your DNA samples. By storing or banking your DNA, Advanced DNA allows you to take the precaution of keeping of permanent record of your or your child’s DNA in case of an emergency. DNA banking is a simple process for which you will use a painless buccal swab to collect cheek cells containing DNA to store.

When is it used?

Banked DNA can be used to search for missing children, identify people in high-risk positions (as in emergency workers or members of the military), and establish a genetic record that would be useful for future medical testing. DNA banking is also often used in conjunction with DNA profiling to create a permanent genetic record of identification.

How long is DNA stored?

Advanced DNA will store your DNA for up to 15 years.
